about

On the 25th of April 2006 I kissed my Father's hand as he took his final breath.

It's been Eleven Years and this is dedicated to him.

I have decided to donate all the royalties from this song and the original 'Black Bird Rising' EP to Cancer research.

I will be making every donation that I make, known to you, if you choose to support it.

Both this song and the EP are now 'Name your Price' items on Bandcamp.

Thank you,
Christos.

about

Black Bird Rising Melbourne, Australia

I am strong believer that life is about the journey of creation. Black Bird Rising is yet another journey and this is only the beginning of that journey. My first attempt at singing, exploring something darker, more lyrically focused and experimenting with different sounds. I am also the guitarist in The Ugly Kings and Devil Electric. I hope you enjoy some of the sounds and stories here. Thank you ... more

Track Name: Eleven Years
Remembering all those things you said,
about love
Remembering how I kissed your hand
As you took your final breath

It’s been 11 years since we spoke
Have I grown to be a man, since you’ve been gone

On that cloudy morning,
On the dark 11th hour
You surrendered to the light
The Candle stops flickering
The Zeppelin rises
A vessel for your soul

It’s been 11 years since we spoke
And I miss you the most, the older I become
Have I grown to be a man, you’d be proud to call son
Have I grown to be a man, my father’s son

I came back home
But you’re no longer there
But I want you to know
Your voice still echoes in the air

It’s been 11 years since we last spoke
Your memory remains forever in my soul
You never left, your love fills my heart
I’m the man that I’ve become, my father’s son
